Operation failed. Please upgrade IPS and application signatures to latest version for this restore

Got a RMA replacement of XG750.  Trying to restore from previous device to the new device but the restore keeps failing (Operation failed. Please upgrade IPS and application signatures to latest version for this restore). All update patterns are up to date and even higher than the device the backup came from.  Been trying for the last 5 hours keep getting same error,

    Definitely a pain, especially considering, that one is doing a restore, most likely to an RMA replacement device.  In my case, which would be common?, the replacement came with old firmware, updated it (used a vlan to fake a wan interface), and you only get newer firmwares to pick from, which probably doesn't match what you have on the "sick" firewall.  This forced me to upgrade the sick one, which fortunately went okay. 

    I had asked every IT person at each site to run the disk checks BEFORE attempting version 18, and one failed the test, and of course, I got this lovely error and landed here :).
