Exe files hidden inside zip/rar?

Dear Experts,

Is there any way to block zip files if they contain executable files? i saw there was on post about it and it mentioned Sophos web appliance. Can someone confirm if this can be done through XG? if not can it be done through web appliance?

  • Hi there,

You may configure Web filter and apply the File category which you want to deny. XG will not be able to determine as per your requirement, but you can block zip and exe file types separately.

    1. Go to Protect Web File Type and click Add.

    2. Type a name.

    3.(Optional) Select a template.
    • You can select from predefined or custom file types. If you do not wish to use a template, choose Blank.
    4. Specify the file extension and MIME header.
