Problem XG125 and IP Printers

Hi,

when you plug the printer into the XG is it via a switch?

You will need a rule/s to allow traffic between the various networks/XG ports and the printer XG port.

Thanks, rfcat_vk  for the reply no we have them plug into the XG, I looked at the Bridge  Interface and it shows  to zone LAN

things to check,

1/. both ends are on autonegotiate

2/. the cable is not a crossover

3/. the speed the printer is connecting at.

Thanks again for the help we are not using crossover from the XG125 I do have an unmanaged switch that I can get from different site

the Printers  are using auto-detect  the Speed is 1000 Mbps via the orbi 

I can't see any speed on the XG125 for the port 6 that I plug the printer into  it gives me IP but 100% loss on Ping

please try a different port on the XG. Also what does the configuration of the port look like?

who is serving as DHCP-server in your net?

Is that "Orbi" AP bridging the wireless clients or is it routing? Means: does it hand out differenet IP addresses to the WiFi?

In that case, you have to establish a route from and to that segment.

I was a little bit unclear: If the ORBI is a bridge, you don't need a route.

If is is acting as a router, you could check this by looking at the Wifi client's addresses, are they from a different net?

Then, and only then, you would need to route between these nets.

I wanted to thank everyone for the help we found the problem  LAN to LAN (Any service) rule to the firewall to allow communication across the ports configured in the bridge. After this we saw the printer successfully be ICMP-reachable
