Hardware reset button on xg86 doesn’t work?

I’ve mucked you my config  and want to factory reset so I can start over.  I’ve pressed the hardware reset button at the back of my xg86 and it doesn’t do anything other than reboot.  I still can’t connect to my device via port 1.  What am I doing wrong?  Does the factory reset button not actually work?
