I am a Sophos UTM Home user currently running on a Zotac Zbox with Celeron N3150 - I have IPS enabled and am able to hit about 500mbps peak (I have a 984mb connection from xFinity at the modem). I am looking to transition to a Sophos XG Home firewall as it seems like there is finally feature parity and I don't have a bunch of firewall rules.
I really want to get max speed from my internet while having IPS/IDS on, with Antivirus and the other advanced protection features running in the background. I also want to use GEO blocking. I don't use VPN or WAF or Web Filtering.
What hardware will run XG Home at 1 gbps (or very close to it)? I have an Intel Core i7 3770k (16gb of ram and SSD) that I am about to retire from my main computing use, will it be up to the task? Let me know what I need or if its even possible. Thanks!
