Logging in to the device after the initial setup

Hello All,

I am new with the XG Firewall device and also new to this group. I had already carried out the initial setup but stopped short of getting it off to work.

On the second day, I found out that I could not log in to access the device without first starting off the initial set up steps once again. I used 172.16.16.16:4444

as the login address. I am thinking that there should be another way since I had already set up the all other functions such as the admin password and the FQDN.

Would any one be kind enough to show how to overcome this present challenge?

    Hello,

    you will always have to use Port 4444 to reach the Web-Admin Inerface, this is for security reasons.

    What do you mean by "challenge"? That you have to type in an IP Address?

    Once you have setup a working DNS-Service, you could use a hostname to pint your browser to the device.

    But, still, you will have to use this form: "https://hostname.domain.local:4444" with the port 4444 appended to adminstrate the device.
