SFOS upgrade from SFOS 16.05.3 MR-3 to 17.5.8 - in one jump?

first of all, make sure to backup configuration. Try to upgrade, the SFOS will check compatibility and if the firmware satisfies requirements checks, you will jump to MR8 in one step.

I am scared that it will not work.

Check from you Sophos Account, which firmware updates you have. In my account:

So check your Sophos account and to be host, I recommend to proceed step by step. Please let us know.

In the portal we have the following available:

However within the XG itself we have the ones below available. Would it be better to go to SFOS_16.0.5.9 MR9 first then jump to 17.14.4-254 (as per the screenshot above) then move up to the lates??

Yes!

If you apply latest release, XG will apply in the order the oldest releases and lastly the last release.

Go for MR9 and then 17 MR8.
