Login credentials not accepted after L2TP configuration for Mac

mac OS High Sierra (10.13.5)

Tunnelblick 3.8.1

I normally have remote access to my server through my work computer (Windows 10) with an SSL VPN, but I wanted to do the same on my personal Mac computer. I attempted to remotely connect to our server with the instructions here with Tunnelblick. I was under the impression that, in order to access the folders on the server, I had to follow the instructions here with an L2TP type VPN.

I now know that this is incorrect (I should have gone to Go > Connect to Server and add my server address), but in the process of following the second set of instructions, I entered a Shared Secret key for Machine Authentication. Now I can't connect to the server via Tunnelblick because it's expecting the shared secret key. My account is still accessible as I can still log in when I go to the portal website, but now that I've added the Shared Secret, I can't even connect to the server on my Windows machine. Attempting to connect to our server via the L2TP type also has no success.

My questions are:

  1. Will this affect access for myself or for everyone that uses remote access in my office?
  2. How can I remove the Shared Secret key so I can log back on my work and personal machine?

Also just to clarify, I'm just staff, not the IT admin, so I wouldn't have access to admin privileges (creating accounts, banning access, etc.).
