Blocking/Allow Access to websites

Hello Everyone,

I want to find out whether it is possible to allow specific user have access to all the sites while other users are blocked using ip address.

I am using Sophos XG and i have denied access to anybody but i want few users to have access. I have tried to create groups by importing from AD but still things are not working normal.

Hi Chimwemwe,

Unless you are making DHCP reservations with clientless users, you will have to setup a authentication mechanism like STAS/Captive Portal/CAA so that the users show up in Current activities -> Live users.

What you want is possible but will take some work to get there.

What authentication method are you using right now? IP address based blocking can be done, but it's easier I think with user level and does not require as much maintenance.
