Advanced traffic shaping hotpsot

Is there a way to have a more advanced traffic shaping policy for hotspots.  Right now I have accomplished applying an overall bandwidth limit on a guest VLAN with a hotspot.  Which is great for limiting bandwidth, but I'm hoping to accomplish something a bit more advanced, such as different limits for different types of traffic.  It would be nice to offer a higher priority to things such as VOIP  & wifi calling  and perhaps lower priority on certain types of content, such as video streaming.

Basically what I would like to see is.

An overall bandwidth limit perhaps with priority, the issue of course is that if the overall priority of say Guest VLAN 1 is lower than Work VLAN 2, guests making calls on VLAN will have issues, if traffic is High on VLAN2.   It would be great to have all VOIP and wifi-calling have high priority across all networks, but still be able to have low priority of most other traffic on the guest VLAN (with various types of traffic within that VLAN having different bandwidth limitations)

included a diagram that might help explain it better.....

  • Hi ,

The priority option available in the configuration is used to prioritise the all the traffic where the specific traffic shaping policy is applied. As there certain ways to apply it, such as User, Firewall rule, Application. For example, you have configured it for user and applied the policy on the user profile and select priority as 1- business critical. It would be applicable to all the traffic generated from that user. There is no bifurcation in the traffic based on priority.
