P2P with local networks.

So I have a setup I am working on 3 office. 2 with internet access and 1 without. I also have 2, point 2 point layer 1 hand offs. I have an XG135 at office A and B. Looking at getting a XG-106 for office C. Internet connections are fiber 100/100Mpbs. P2P are fiber 50/50Mpbs. I am having trouble getting the P2P connections to talk. I have tried creating a 10.10.40.0 between office A-B. With static routes no luck. I have extended office A to port 6 in-office B. setup my firewalls rules for cross traffic, No luck. What is the best way to go about this setup?

  • Hi

You required to configure static routes in all the XG device for remote network to work with P2P connection.

    1. Connect your P2P link to XG device and configure them as LAN, DMZ or WAN zone and configured IP schema.

    2. Add a static route for the network to reach them via the specific interface.

    3. Create firewall rule for those zones to communicate.

If the P2P line is terminated in the switch, you may require to bypass traffic for asymmetric routing.
