IPS Signature differences?

Hi,

in this document https://docs.sophos.com/nsg/threatlabs/SFOS/IPSSummary.html i've found that there are two versions of IPS Signatures, one for XG 550, XG 650 and XG 750 and one for the smaller ones and virtual appliances.

Now my question is, whats the difference between them? Any why XG 550, XG 650 and XG 750 are using other Signatures than the smaller appliances and the virtual appliances?

These version numbers does not indicate that 550-750 have latest signatures than 85-450. Latest version of XG85 will have the same/ latest signature revision to that of XG750. They are different version sequence/ naming to segregate signatures among smaller and larger devices. Number of signatures on a device model has been chosen to optimize protection and performance on that device.
