High MS on ping causing Request Timed Out and lose of Internet

The hardware I'm working with is an XG210 and two AP100C access points.

The ping response starts at around 4ms but after some internet use, it starts to spike at 100ms to 300ms. It eventually starts to get a "request Timed out" in-between a high ms ping response.  Eventually, the "Request Timed Out" increases and the user to gets a slow internet connection to no internet causing the user to have to disconnect and reconnect.

The setup of the environment is as followed:

2 access points plugged into a Netgear gs752tpp switch

Thank!

Brian

  • No I do not. I spoke to Sophos and they suggested to plug the AP directly to the firewall and see if that improves it. The ms did drop with a few spikes here and there < only 1 request timed out>. Going to keep testing for the next 24 hours. They said since the ap has the MTU of 1500 and the netgear has their MTU set to 1522 that could be an issue.

I'll keep you updated but suggestion are welcomed
