what is the rule of the Alias and why not all the subnet on the interface seen ?

Need help to understand the below scenario please.

First case :

when i configured an ip address on sophos  xg interface " port 2 "assume 192.168.1.1/24 under Lan zone , and need to do a mapping (DNat) for a specific server has a public ip from range subnet 192.168.1.1/24 assume it's 192.168.1.50.

  - the rule will not work till i add an alias for this ip 192.168.1.50 on the same interface "port 2".However,it's within the subnet range.

Second case :

when i configured an ip address on sophos  xg interface " port 2 "assume 192.168.1.1/24 under Wan zone with a gateway 192.168.1.2 , and need to do a mapping (DNat) for a specific server has a public ip from range subnet 192.168.1.1/24 assume it's 192.168.1.50.

   - the rule is working fine by create only a host on the destination address

Is there any explanation about that please ? why its working under wan zone when there's a gateway for and why it doesn't work under lan zone although it's withing same range ?

Appreciate your help
