email issues: Email has been accepted by Device and queued for scanning

Can you track down such a Alert Notification Mail in the SMTPd_main.log?

(Actually personally speaking, switched to Central and using the Central Alerting Method :))

Just to update i did manage to solve this, for some reason i had to toggle between legacy and MTA.

I will keep monitoring and see how it goes.

i have a similar issue , it used to work , but suddenly stopped and getting " accepted by Device and queued for scanning " 

Please advise how on you toggle between legacy and MTA

Navigate to the Email > General settings > SMTP deployment mode. It could be either MTA or legacy.

I did change it to Legacy mode from the settings you had mentioned  , also switched off Advanced Threat Protection (not sure if it was related)

Please advise to which email id is the backup being send , i had to delist IP since mine was Microsoft account , try a gmail address

Also the legacy mode as advised by H_Patel
