Passing device traffic thru firewall without filtering using mac address

Is is possible to pass network traffic thru SOPHOS without filtering by using the device mac address? I have 2 Roku devices that I want to be able to stream Netflix. Is there a way to just provide SOPHOS with the mac address and let the Roku bypass filtering? If so, how do I do it? Also, is there a reason I shouldn't do it?

Thanks,

cg

  • A simple solution would be to use this MAC Addresses in the DHCP Server, attach a static IP to those devices and create a separate firewall policy without scanning above all.

  • Thanks very much for your suggestion! I am not very familiar with SOPHOS as I have been running Untangle for the past several years. Can you tag a device by MAC address and then create a SOPHOS firewall rule that allows data from a tagged device to bypass filtering?
