Login failed after initial setup

I picked up a Sophos SG115 (Intel Atom E3827 Bay Trail Dual Core 1.7GHz 4GB DDR3 64GB SSD) and trying to install Firewall XG for home use. I successfully installed 17_5_5_433 and able to complete login using password admin. I can also see the GUI using 172.16.16.16 but login failed with username admin and password admin. I read somewhere that this might be due to wrong time zone. My BIOS is showing Sun Jun 2 2019 22:59:22 but on XG (under System Date) it is showing Sun Jun 2 2019 23:59:22 BST which I think is British Summer Time. There is no option in console to change the time zone.

Is there a way around this?

  • Hi,

the console password is not set until you login to the GUI. There is no password on the admin account at initial setup. The fail to login in is not time based issue, that comes when you try to register/synchronise your XG.
