Factory resetting Sophos RED15w v1 does not work - device not found

Hi,

 

I recently got a Sophos AP 15w back from a remote site. In order to sell it, I'm trying to factory reset the device. To do so, I used the tool provided here: https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/118843

The device is connected directly to a Windows PC, local firewall is disconnected, and when running the tool as administrator I get the error message: no device found.

The information the tool provide is for v2 and v3. Since I have a v1, how can I reset this device?

  • I guess you didn't read the KB article at the link you have there; the tool does not work on any of the newer RED or AP devices, only the old ones (no support for RED15w at all, for instance).  You will need to start a support case with Sophos for resolution, they do not publish any tools for reflashing or resetting newer-gen RED or AP devices.
