Facebook "Chat is currently unavailable" if Decrypt & Scan HTTPS is enabled

Hi all,

I have a strange issue that I do not understand why it is happening.  Users who log into Facebook from a browser (Chrome or IE) get "Chat is currently unavailable" and notifications don't display consistently, if at all.  I have gone through every possible setting in the firewall rule and isolated it to Decrypt & Scan being enabled.  If I turn it off, it works fine.  Turn it on, and I get the error message and it doesn't work properly or at all.  I am not sure why this is the case as I have installed the XG's CA and all other sites (including Facebook itself) work fine without throwing any certificate errors.

Anybody have any idea what's going on or why this is happening?  Thanks in advance.

Bill

  • Apparently its a websocket problem, enabling Decrypt & Scan screws it up.  From the developer console I get:

WebSocket connection to 'wss://edge-chat.facebook.com/chat?region=ash' failed: Error during WebSocket handshake: Unexpected response code: 400
