I know about this KB, but i needed to know how can end customer use this API section? What is it used for?

The KB article shows how to implement it but not any examples or use cases on the same.

Basically you can configure nearly everything on the GUI also with API.

XML based to import / export configuration.

There are couple of examples in the KBA under the List of tags used in API
