Sophos SG empty model field/no appliance picture

Hi all,

I just bought Sophos 110/120 on ebay and installed it with my home license.
Now I'm facing the following problems:

  • On the WebAdmin Dashboard is no appliance picture although it is enabled to be shown
  • At the Licensing overview I do not see any model - it’s just empty.

Does anyone know why I can not figure out which model I have exactly?
Should I reinstall the sophos?

  • Hi timreck,

Please look at the 2 lines above it, that would mean that it is not licensed via the normal (Sophos) methods, but rather a free home user license, and the software is for Home User (thus 'software') as well.

also you may find that the interfaces are reversed, but this is expected from the software version.

    hi Argo,

thank you for your reply and indeed I am using a home license that was generated via myutm.sophos.com.
Is there a way to implement the right hardware Sophos model?

    Regards

  • there is a way, but it involves buying the correct license, and as this product is end of life, it really isn't worth it. I had one of these as well about 18 months ago as a test bed, but found it became very slow, very quickly.

all the items are very old and not really cost effective to upgrade, most people on here either bought a unit with 2 NICs (sometimes more), or ran it as a virtual unit on a virtual host.

you will find lots of people here that can help if you need it.

  • Okay, thanks for all your contributions.
So I guess I have to live with it and its the same concerning the appliance image? (that would be nice!).
