Swapping from SG to XG keeping old MAC Addresses

Hi,

I am swapping from a sg to xg, I see in interfaces you can "override default MAC address"  would it be relevant to do this an use the MAC addresses from the SG interfaces or what else is this aspect used for.

Any insight is always appreciated!

Thanks

  • Hey

You shouldn't need to configure this unless you had an existing setup that included specific MAC addresses.

    Use default MAC address

    • Use the default MAC address of the interface. By default, the first port that is included as member port becomes the default MAC address.

    Override default MAC address

    • Override the default MAC address of the interface and enter a new address. On factory reset, the address will be reset to the default MAC address.
