Xbox One and NAT issues

Hello everyone,

I have read through many posts and applied the fixes from them, however, the fixes don't work for me.  I created a firewall rule to bypass according to this link and it is still showing NAT strict.

After looking at the logs I see this but its appling to firewall rule 0 which i don't have.  The rule I have setup for this is in the #1 spot.

  • On the source section of your firewall rule, how is “Streaming Services” setup? Is it IP or MAC address based? I would double check that to make sure it’s associating your Xbox One with that firewall rule.

Are there any firewall rules above the one for your Xbox that it might be associating with?

As for the Invalid Traffic entries, you can read more about them here:

I personally just disabled logging of Invalid Traffic entries.

Lastly, firewall rule 0 is a “hidden” firewall rule that sits at the very bottom of all your rules. It’s essentially a default block all incoming connections rule.

  • Hi Shred,

The Streaming rule is the top rule.  For the streaming services i reserved the Xbox as well as my Apple TV with a DHCP reservation based on MAC addresses with an IP.  I can confirm they are working because I checked them after reboot and they are getting the correct IP.

Thanks for the link i have made the time out change and removed the invalid traffic setting.
