Sophos SSL VPN client does not always ADD route to LAN

Going through this document you will notice there's no mention of adding a static route. 

I support a small dozen of XG's with this SSL VPN setup and don't have any problems.

I edited my post and removed “static” from the original post on the SSL VPN cliënt side as that is not correct. I can confirm the steps taken.

However the problem is as described on a W10 Home PC you need to connect sometimes multiple times before the route to the lan is added and the lan can be reached.

Will be setting up additional clients to check if it also happens on other Windows cliënts.

I have no issues on a Windows 7 Pro laptop. Route to VPN LAN and LAN DNS server is added correctly and working each time. I also tried on a Windows 10 Pro laptop and same issue as on the Windows 10 Home edition.  It sometimes takes multiple connection retries to add the route. DNS on Windows 10 is never added. 

I set the tun tap adapter to always connected on the Windows 10 home laptop as per

No change in behavior.

But is it also possible to change the config scripts on the XG side to prevent having to change it on every client?

I am still awaiting an answer from Sophos regarding the SSL VPN Client.

Have uninstalled Sophos SSL VPN client and downloaded the OpenVPN client as suggested by the partner. The OpenVPN 2.4.7 does not have this issue. Every connection has the route active.
