I have a sophos XG85. a few times a week the device becomes completely inaccessible. i cant connect to it via the admin interface and all devices lose internet. It is connected to a Cisco managed switch and from that i can tell that all traffic is flowing normal on its backplane. Individual machines on the switch can reach each other. I can remote from one machine to another, ping each device, run a scan etc. But any traffic to or from the XG85 stops. if we wait 5 mins or so everything returns to normal. I usually dont have to do anything. sometimes i unplug it and plug it back in but usually not.
