Access Points not assigning DHCP IP to Apple devices behind XG85

Hi All,

I configured 2 AP TP-Link and Unifi and connected with XG85 Lan port and working fine with all PC's, Laptops and smartphones EXCEPT all Apple devices.

Very strange for me as no Apple device is getting auto IP from any of the AP.

  • Hello ,

As per your diagram you have 2 network i.e. 172.16.1.0/24 and 192.168.0.0/24 now if you have bridged between WAN interface connected to the router and host systems in 192.168.0.0 network. Could you please check if there is a WAN to LAN and LAN to WAN rule configured? You could also combine both rules to a single firewall rule. I would assume here that the network 172.16.1.0/24 is configured as a seperate interface. So you might have to configure Static or Policy routing for your servers to communicate through the router.

It would be much easier to have a seperate network between Router and your LAN network and configure XG as a DHCP server for that interface or you may simply configure DHCP relay to point to your router to provide DHCP if needed.
