Hi all,
I'm not able to find any definitive answers on this issue, which I would think is quite common.
I have an XG105 with a client and two WAN connections to two different ISPs. The XG105 was originally set up with only one WAN connection and the modem was placed in bridge mode. All was good. The second ISP has its own modem providing 4G redundancy so bridge mode is not an option. They are both connected using load balancing with redundancy. There have been occasions when the primary WAN has dropped out, this is the bridge mode connection. The secondary connection takes over and it's business as usual.
Is bridged mode the preferred method of connecting a modem/router?
What considerations need to be made when the primary service fails with regards to remote administration, VPN etc?
Thanks in advance.
Rob
