  • Hello ,

The connection between switch and firewall is a trunk connection and you can either configure DHCP on the router or on the firewall. Make sure the DHCP request is Tagged otherwise the interface DHCP will assign the IP address.

  • HI THANKS FOR REPLY

i would just like to confirm that now i have two interface one directly on to the vlan port and other one on vlan 1 as default for lan DHCP server ,now the thing is i want the devicess to get ip through the one on the vlan 1 and for other dhcp that is tagged to vlan only the deivces on the vlan will only get the ip as the port in physicall connected to the vlan interface on the switch itself

also i am getting ip through the vlan 1 port on the lan which usually takes aroung 40-50 seconds for the windows machine to pick ip and say its coonected to the internet is there any way to speed up the same please ..
