How to setup multiple ports / interfaces with separate switches

I have done some searching and can't find what I believe is a proper resolution.

 

What I want to accomplish is to have 2 ports (interfaces) with each connected to a separate switch. 

Currently I have port 4 as my LAN and port 3 as WAN.

 

I want to use port 1 as part of my LAN where it works the same as port 4 on the same subnet with the DHCP, firewall, ect. 

 

I think I need to bridge ports 4 & 1. 

 

Please let me know if this is what I should do and how to accomplish this. I have looked at the interface bridging and I am not sure of the settings.

    I previously found the article, which I read and tried to follow the directions. I tried to bridge ports 4 & 1 together and I lost my web access and internet access. I had to restore to a backup.

     

    I selected add interface.

    Entered a name and description.

     

    Do I enable routing on this bridge pair? 

     

    Select port 4 - LAN

    Select port 1 - LAN

     

    I checked IPv4 assignment

     

    What do I select for IP assignment? I selected DHCP earlier when I lost my connection. Should this be static and I put my IP of the gateway?

    Hello ,

    The reason you may have lost an access is because of two possible reasons. 1) You may have configured bridged pair from the same port and HTTPs access not not allowed or the address might have changed. . It is always recommended to have a seperate port for configuration, especially when port configuration is involved so you could check the status of these interface and try to fix the issue instead of restoring the entire device.. 2) You do not need to configure the bridge pair routing. It is always recommended to configure static address on the firewall unless if it is a WAN  and have DHCP assignment provided by ISP.
