EMP disturbed VDSL Modem - effect on Ethernet Port and Functionality of SG210

Hi,

i had a strange Problem today, i think it started on Saturday.

On Saturday i needed to power cycle our PBX. After the powercycle the ISP Modem resynced for a while and the ISP Connection was up again.
Everything was OK, Internet Connection was fast with this ISP Modem.

Today we had a lot of timeouts in SG210 over the day.

VPN Clients couldn´t connect through the Firewall to clients, Internet request had timeout, DNS had timeouts and a few more Problems.

The SG210 has 5 Ports.

PortE1 is connected to ISP over fibre.

PortE5 is connected to the ISP Modem (Zyxel BMG1312). The modem that had Problems on Saturday.

As soon as i disconnected the Connection at PortE5 in XG 17.5.3 (Software disconnect) the Problems disappered.

Has anyone seen similar effects with a "disturbed" or broken Modem?

The Modem was sitting on Top of the PBX System. PBX is a 19" Rack Model with metal casing. PBX is About 10years old.

Thanks

Jürgen
