AMD Hardware Support?

Question

XG Firewall specifically states Intel hardware, but is that just a way of saying an x86/x64 bit platform? My UTM 9 is currently on an AMD socket FM2 ITX box, I would like to keep this hardware.

Amd hardware is fully compatible. Their wording is simply poor, as you noted, sophos xg simply requires x86/64 hardware 
 
I've run successfully on amd x2 processor, e-350 as well as newer a10 hardware. All works fine.
