xg quarantine report only for known users?

Hi all,

 

we migrated from UTM to XG using Mail Functionality (Exchange Server). XG is up to date.

I wonder that only some users get quarantine reports.

Especially Exchange Public Folder never get it.

So it seems that only users defined in Sophos (with corresponding mail) receive quarantine report.

There is no AD connect implemented!

So is it true that only users listed in "change user's quarantine digest settings" will receive a quarantine report?

    Yes its true, only users selected in that section will get the report. 

    You needed a user object with associated email addresses in the UTM to receive a quarantine report I believe.

    Perhaps I adapt my question: How can I get quarantine reports from Sophos XG to Exchange Public folders?

    Any description for this?

    This is not quite possible in case of the XG. 

    The Email has to be attached to a certain user. 

    It could be an alias or something. This is possible for the administrator. 

    Public Folder has no user in AD, so more likely XG will not create a user. 

    You could import the "public folder users" with a CSV into XG. 

     

    I am not quite a fan of this approach to send digests to a public folder.

    Anybody in this folder could release the mail and nobody knows, who did this. Like in UTM. 

     

    PS: UTM:

    • Emails sent to an SMTP email address for which no user is configured in Sophos UTM can be released (but not whitelisted) from the Quarantine Report or in the Mail Manager by an administrator. However, as this user is not configured, no access to the User Portal is possible.

    I have absolutely no idea how to deal with this.

    How should you use qurantining if nobody gets informed that there is any mail in quarantine.

    It's usable for a couple of users but for large entity this is absolutely impossible (which is my point of view ;-).

     

    The quaratine mail sent to the public folder within UTM is a valide option to solve this.

    I have sooooo many custmers using this feature.

    No idea how to later move to XG.

    You Could simply fake user on XG with the Public folder email address. 

    Therefore the Public folder will receive a digest.

    Should work - but did not  test this approach.
