Sort order of Policies broken?

I'm trying to get the custom(ized) policies to show up at the beginning of the list, but it looks like there's some quirky algorithm for the sort order.

On virtually all other platforms something like this would work (the custom entry highlighted in yellow):

#Default Web Policy - custom
Default Policy
Default Workplace Policy
No web uploads

Since the ASCII-code of the #-symbol is lower than that of a "D" I expected XG to sort it as above.

However, here's what it's doing:

Default Policy
#Default Web Policy - custom
Default Workplace Policy
No web uploads

Even more strange is this sort order:

Default Policy
1Default Web Policy - custom
Default Workplace Policy
No web uploads

Bug? Design decision?

  • In Web \ Policies I believe there is alphabetical sorting.

In the editing of a Firewall Rule, in the dropdown list of Web Policies...  oh it gets fun.

It is unsorted - which actually means it is sorted by ID number.  So if you create new policies they go to the bottom of the list in creation order.  However if you delete a policy then it fill in the gaps.

So it is a...  design indecision?  eg there was no requirement so there was no design.  Its not really a bug its...  Sorted list is not a feature?  :)

I've complained about it internally, but priority is low.  Perhaps if there was external complaints.

  • I'm complaining :-)

How do I make it official?

  • log a feature request and post the link here.
