Dual Port Gigabit NIC recommendation for XG, preferably from Ebay (PCIe)

Hi.  I'm building a new home firewall, as my existing one is very slow already.  I'd like to use parts off ebay, to make it cheaper.  I have always read that Realtek NICs are no good, and should use Intel Gigabit NIC instead.  

Any known working NIC for PCIe interface?

    I've decided to change my setup into using Supermicro X9SCM-F serverboard.  It comes with 2 onboard Intel NICs, and I still have my additional 2 port PCIe NIC (also Intel).  Can this be considered a 4-port firewall?  Will the OS allow them to be seen and used altogether?
