Quick UDP Internet Connections - Allow or Denied?

Today, how is this topic ?. Is it still recommended to block QUIC traffic (443 UDP and 80 UDP) in our firewalls?

  • Originally QUIC was blocked by a specific tick box because it bypassed all web and application tests. Now I believe the ability to test the QUIC protocol has been added to the http/https proxy.

So whether you block it specifically or let the applications and sites that use the protocol be checked by your XG configuration is up to you.

Me, I just block  it, but that is a hangover from restores and I do not see any application or sites fail because of the back.More importantly my wife does not complain about site access failures.

  • Hello Jorge,

For better control on web and application content we would recommend to block UDP:443, if you do not have any such restrictions on google websites and searches then you do not need to apply any.
