Can I enable QoS on an IPSEC Site-To-Site VPN Tunnel

 Greetings,

I have an IPSEC tunnel setup from Site B to Site A (Site A has a server that the remote office that clients RDP into. Obviously other end has tunnel from Site A to Site B)

I then have a firewall rule at Site B that allows LAN Zone, source internal LAN to VPN Zone destination Site B Server IP over RDP protocol.

I'd like to put QoS on Site B clients that puts the RDP traffic at highest priority. How do I achieve this?

  • Hello,

I couldnt understand what you mean the Highest Priority for rdp traffic. QoS is generally used for Limiting Network Bandwidth and RDP has an auto connection module in it and changing its quality by network speed.

Anyway you can use Rule Based or Application based traffic shaping.

    For Rule Based,

Your RDP Allow Rule > Traffic Shaping > Below Policy Screenshot With Rules Selected

    For Application Based,

Applications > Traffic Shaping Default > Remote Access > Windows Remote Desktop > Below Policy Screenshot With Applications Selected *Dont Forget to select 'Apply application-based traffic shaping policy' below your application policy in your firewall rule*
