UTM Beep

Hallo,

ich war gestern im Rechenzentrum und habe den Verdacht, dass die UTM beept. Bin mir aber wegen der Geräuschkulisse nicht ganz sicher. Der beep geht ca. 0.5sec mit 2 sec. Pause.
Sie war letzte Woche auf CPU 100%
Wie kann ich ihn wieder deaktivieren?

  • Hallo Edmund,

Erstmal herzlich willkommen hier in der Community !

(Sorry, my German-speaking brain isn't creating thoughts at the moment. [:(])

That's unusual.  Please start top, quit and copy the text of the result into a post here.  A picture from your phone would work, too.

  • Hallo Edmund,

    That does look suspicious.

    Mem: 8101360k total, 7828708k used, 272652k free, 112508k buffers
    Swap: 1048572k total, 1048572k used, 0k free, 3925304k cached

Yet, the details show that you're using less than 21% of the memory.  Before you try a reboot, show us what you get from the following at the command line:

    free -m; uptime; version

The reboot should fix this issue, and the additional information should point at the reason for this issue.

A swap size of 1GB makes me guess that this is an older installation.  You will want to have Support increase that to 2GB, and they might recommend 4GB.  Or, if you feel comfortable at the command line, you can increase the swap to 2GB by running the following command as root:

    cc set settings extra_swap 1

  • The filled swap file and the unreleased memory are the only things I see, and those should clear up with a reboot.

There was a bug in the past that seems to resurface in new versions occasionally, and then not for everyone.  I recommend never leaving WebAdmin open on the Dashboard and logging out of it except when actively working in it.  This situation feels like one that could be avoided with this recommendation.
