Cisco Meraki MX64w vs Sophos XG 135

Hi All,

need your guidance in providing some comparison between XG 135 and Cisco MX64w based on below specific requirements.

Number of users 50

Email Protection

Web Security

Spam Protection

MTA (Mail Gateway)

Global VPN

Antivirus /AntiMalware

I have already suggested XG 135 but the customer want to check MX64w as well, I tried to search on the web whether cisco meraki MX64w will provide all of the above requirements or not but unable to find any reliable to the point information.

I just want to know which of the above requirements not supported by Cisco Meraki so that i can inform and discuss with the customer, and try to make their mind to go for XG 135.

thanks in advance to all

  • Hi,

besides asking a reseller/partner for a more detailed reply, the best i could find was the pdf and it did not reference any mail (MTA) activities.

  • Hello,

Yes i checked and couldn't found anything about Antispam and MTA, but still needs input from experts on this forum.

  • You should get in touch with a Sophos Sales Rep for a proper answer to this.

Most likely nobody can here compare products with Sophos products.

  • Hey there,

I have a MX64 at home that I use to torment my kids with. Great for a small office to protect Web and do basic Firewalling and enforce Group Policies based on Device etc.

It will do VPN fine as well - although not as well as the Sophos.

Other than that it really doesn't do MTA or email Protection. I am a Meraki fanboi but it really doesn't compare to the Sophos XG (I have a 230 and 450) but as a small Office connector or SD WAN device its solid.
