Checking certain interfaces for disconnections ect

Hey Guys,

Is there anyway to see when, why or if an interface got DC or started to drop packets ?

I keep getting notifications saying certain WAN ports are down then up but I cannot seem to find a reason or see in the logs ?

Also it sometimes seems to happen while we are working it just breaks the connection to the fibre then after 20 min its back up.

Thanks

  • I know this has probably been thought of but are you sure your ISP is not going down?

Or can you explain more on the WAN Interfaces?

    Hi,

That's correct I have checked and they've tested the fiber line , Apparently everything is fine.

So the line will got "down" no traffic can go down that line for about 20 min , Also trying to see if there's a way to do a hardware diagnostics on the interface :).
