I got a smart home...and I am using XG 17 home edition...how to configure my XG17 to best protect me against IoT attacks and security of IoT devices? I.e. how to configure Vlan etc?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Hi,

Heart beat is not avaible to home users.

I have put all my IoT devices on their own network (wifi and VLAN) Then used clientless groups to lock users to the various rules. Also each device is assigned a static IP address so that clienteles groups can be enforced. Further I limit the IoT rules to the applications and ports required, there is no open (any) rule. Some of the devices are very crude and use a lot of MS basic networking which is open to attack.

That is a simple overview of IoT security.
