Why connections slow down when I use WLAN with a sepperate zone?

Hallo,

I want to use a WLAN with a sepparate zone on my XG135 with an AP55. But I have problems if I use that. I can use bridge in AP-LAN instead and it works fine.

My Problem is: The speed slows down when I go to a "new" website ... When I use a link in that website (same domain) normaly it works better... but even not so good as it does if I use a WLAN with bridge in AP-LAN.

To test and find the problem/error I configured a WLAN with no more security; just using the firewall rule (source zone, any source IP and Port, target zone = WAN and alsough any target IP and Port). No Proxy, no application fiilter or trafic shaping. (I alsough have no trafic shaping configured in any other rule!)

Of course I configured the masquarading (same as in the rule for the zone where the AP physicaly is connected to)

maybe anybody can tell me if there is a different behavior between using the zone from the accesspoint (because I configured the WLAN with "bridge into AP-LAN") or if I use an own zone for that WLAN (because I configured it with "sepparate zone").

  • There is only one AP and on this is only one device for testing connected. But I tried with other devices, too. Same behavior: The WLAN with bridging to AP-LAN works the other not.

I am Using no user authentication at this time.

The DNS is set to google DNS 8.8.8.8 (I am using the DHCP Server from the XG). I tried alsough with the DNS from my ISP and with the local IP from that connection Point on XG. The last one is the setting I am using for the zone where the AP is connected to.
