Install says "Cleaning NVRAMERROR: Unable to clean NVRAM"

I downloaded and installed SW-SFOS_15.01.0-376.iso on a VM successfully.  I then tried to install it on a bare-metal machine via a USB stick but didn't get very far.

I got a detected appliance model message of SF01V_SO01.  When I said yes to continue, the first error message says:

Cleaning NVRAMERROR: Unable to clean NVRAM
press y to reboot

That's all that ever happens.  Rebooting just gets me back in the same place.  Is there any way to force past the error?  Is the software detecting some type of appliance instead of a PC and therefore thinks it can clear some type of NVRAM on the suspected device?  Actually I just checked on the VM and it detects the same device, so I don't think that's the problem.

Any way to get this installed?

  • Probably not the help that you were expecting, but I too have been experiencing all sorts of weirdness with the install for XG.

Firstly, I had this error that you got, then on a reinstall it just showed completed 100% and froze, rebooting just booted into a screen with just ""CY" on the display.

Seems that there is something iffy with the current installer - hope it's fixed soon as we all love shiny new stuff, and feel left out that I'm unable to join in the fun!
