Update process and alerts

XG will not shoot an notification Email for Pattern & Firmware updates. Instead it will notify you on the dashboard when you login to GUI.

In XG, Firmware and Pattern update can be monitored under u2d.log file. 

Yes, major updates with XG will come with Firmware upgrade there will not be frequent pattern updates in XG.

Hi Sachin,

As you probably well know, Sophos Labs deals with up to 4 million new infections/attacks and if needs will create pattern updates for them on the fly and the UTM will regularly get new pattern updates daily or multiple times a day.

So does this mean that my and my customer's XG appliances may not be protected from new attacks and malicious infections for X period of time which is more than a day or otherwise?

Hi Emile,

The Pattern Update to IPS and Application signatures will be updated up to date. 

What I meant is major updates will be done along with Firmware, but  security and IPS & Application Signature Pattern updates will always be up to date.
