Email Client Issue

Dears,

I got a problem , I got a client who has outlook installed , the configuration of his mail are below:

Incoming mail Server : imap.ipage.com
Outgoing mail server: smtp.ipage.com

incoming Server (IMAP): 143

outgoing server (SMTP): 587

I made a rule to allow all traffic from this host to Any with any Services and a Rule from WAN to His Host with all Services allowed, but still I get the issue that he is able to receive mails but not able to send

I always get the below error

"None of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your server."

it works fine without passing traffic through the Firewall

  • Hi,

you can do it two ways.

1/. set a business rule with smtp and IMAP scanning adding your email servers as the destination networks FQDN

2/. you can create a firewall rule for smtp (port 25) and imap with the destinations as the FQDN mail servers, No scanning, just IPS.

The above assumes your outlook client is nit using any of the secure ports or TLS settings.
