Email Bounce or rejection notifications

Hello,

I need to know how we can stop sending ANY rejection notifications. Call them what you like, "Bounced, Rejections, Non-Delivery" notices. But, these things from our own firewalls are clogging up the spooler and causing more trouble by sending back information. I would much rather stop sending out anything for messages that we block, stop, or drop.

But, the XG seems dead set on sending out notices for everything! We have our own users getting bounce back messages from the spammers that are spoofing their email address's.

That seems pretty ridiculous to me!

If I'm a spammer, spoofing your address and sending to you from your own address, we block that message and the internal user gets the bounce back message... Seriously?

  • Did you already upgrade to V17.5?

You should do it in any case of mail issues and observe it again. V17.5 uses another Daemon and can act in most cases differently. Because of that fact, you should open any Case / issue / bug with V17.5 because most likely we are not changing the old daemon.

  • I was wondering about that from your other post. To my knowledge that version 17.5 hasn't achieved general release yet.

As a Partner I was on the webinar for 17.5 the other week when they told us about all of those new features. At that time all of our client firewalls were at 17.3. Then suddenly 17.4 was released. Now we are still waiting for the general release of 17.5 for many reasons. I keep checking and so far have not seem it released just yet.

I'm very glad to hear that they may have finally addressed some of these issues in the yet to be released 17.5. But, we can't go around putting Beta software out on our clients production systems.

We are considering trying to test the 17.5 in Beta on our own firewall to see if it is safe yet. But, from the lists of bugs and fixes, I'm slightly skeptical about putting it on a busy Travel Agency.

  • V17.5 is GA. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_release_life_cycle

But still in Staging Phase (because of the holiday season). Just to react properly in case something came up.

Most of my customers, i talked to, already using V17.5.
