Showing hostnames instead of IP addresses

I want to show hostnames instead of IP addresses in "Current Activities" and "Reports" sections.

I've private DNS servers. I've followed the practices here: https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/f/management-networking-logging-and-reporting/32566/solved-dns-best-practice and applied the following:

I've set the DNS configuration and the test works fine (see next screenshot.)

 I've also set request routing as in the following picture :

 

Still the reports and live users show IP addressed instead of hostnames!

    HI,

    I think you need to edit the heading on this thread a because it is different to your thread body details.

    That KBA was written specifically for the UTM, you will need to modify it for the XG.

    I get a mix of names and IP addresses in the reports. I use clienteles users (actually machine designations) and the DHCP server on the XG. Does the XG know about your user/device names?

    If you look in the log viewer using the web or email pages do you see the user names there?

    I use the Authentication Agent to authenticate users through the LDAP. The Agent is working fine and I can see the users clearly in nearly everything.

    Hi cscegypt,

    You may want to use Username based reports as the IP address cannot be replaced with the Hostname..
