"a logout option" ? 17.5

In the new 17.5 release, the notes say there is now a "logout option"  but i'm not able to find anything in the documentation.  I assumed this referred to a way for users to logout, but i'm not exactly sure what this functionality is, or how to use it.

I was hoping this might be a way for authenticated users to pull up a logout window or some functionality to logout, in case they accidentally closed their captive portal window?

Thanks much.

AFAIK the logout option was added to the Client Authentication Agent - the little windows system tray icon version of logging out.

For Captive Portal, there have been no changes.

Depending on how you configure Captive Portal you can force a log out if they close the captive portal window (use keepalive).  You can also bookmark the captive portal - and then if you ever need to log out you can hit the bookmark (which actually bookmarks to log in, but then you can log in as someone new, or log in and then out again - terrible I know).  As an admin you can go to Current Activities | Live Users and log someone off.  You can also do so using the XML API and as far as I remember there was another thread about people automating this.

In v18 the Captive Portal configuration will be reorganized to make it clearer to the admins, however the underlying functionality will be the same.
