XG firewall - can not delete reports

I am running 17.1.4. MR-4 firmware version.

As far as I know there are 2 options to clear the reports:

1. WEBCONSOLE: Reports > Device reports settings > Manual purge > Purge All (Note: you can select time range to purge or you can purge all at once)

2. COMMAND LINE INTERFACE - connect via serial cable to XG firewall device open putty and log in to the CLI > Select "5. Device Management" > Select "4. Flush Device Reports" and follow the instructions

The device will reboot, it takes about 10 mins to get back online.

MY PROBLEM: These are instructions in user manuals but the problem is this is not working for me, the reports are still on the device no matter what I do. Anyone with similar experience?

  • Hi Help Desk24,

If the reports are not removed from your device , it is possible that the database has been corrupt. I would suggest to open a support ticket to get this sorted out.

  • I have an opened ticket with the support, but its taking so long to resolve it. So I wanted to ask the community too.

    This is my diagnistics info:

How can I see if my database is corrupted or not?

  • Hi Help Desk24

Run command on Advance Shell. Option 5>3

     Step 1: run command > df -h   #show output

    Step 2: run the command -> tail -f /log/reportdb.log /log/iview.log

Step 3 : Conduct Manual Purge of the Reports>

Step 4 : Stop the capture and share the results from the command on Step 2.

You may try this options to check if that would resolve the issue.

    Option 1.

    1. run the command in console option 4> system application_cliassification off

    2. Conduct the Manual Purge and wait for an hour .

    3. You may verify if the space has freed up using the command > df -h as used in Step 1.

Option 2. You may upgrade the firmware to the latest one and purge them. This should rebuild the database.
