User Sync ID in v17.5

Hey guys

Anyone got any feedback on Synchronised User ID that was released in v17.5?

I am not a fan of STAS and its issues and saw this. I don't have v17.5 yet and I don't use Sophos on my Endpoints.

Anyone tried it and does it work well?

  • Anyone know about user sync when you don't have AD or RADIUS? We're a mac only shop so AD is out of the question as its overkill for mac users. I was really hoping it would just tell me who was logged in via the Sophos AV and the local user account.

  • Hey Brian

How many users do you have?

    Sophos XG 450 (SFOS 18.5.1 MR-1)

    Sophos R.E.D 50 x 2

    Always configuring new stuff.....

  • Without AD - SSO, STAS or User Sync probably wont work.

Maybe set the users up as Local Users on the XG and use the Auth Client?

Or if they have fixed IPs you could do Clientless users

For 55 users its not too painful to set up :-)

  • I suppose with XG SFOS 17.5, Sophos Endpoint and EDR beta you should see the corresponding users to the IP address on XG. This is not AD related because Sophos Endpoint reports directly from the PC to Sophos Central.

I agree that STAS and AD user sync don't work but you don't need it.
