Brand New Installation Cannot Reach Licensing System

I have a brand new installation of XG 17.1.3_MR-3-250 for home use. It cannot contact https://eu-prod-utm.soa.sophos.com, but all the other tests pass (IP address is assigned to the WAN interface, gateway is reachable, DNS is working, etc.) If I choose to continue without registration, I CAN access the Internet through the XG, but I would like to get my appliance registered. For others, I have read that a re-installation fixed the issue, but I have tried that twice without luck. Any guidance would be appreciated!

  • Thanks for your responses, Ian! I just figured out the issue was related to NTP. When I installed Sophos, I let it automatically set the time based on my location. Somehow, even though my timezone was correct, it used Sophos' NTP server and set the time to ~1 hour off of the actual time. 

     

    I went to WebAdmin > Administration > Time and manually set the time ("Do not use NTP Server"). Once the time was correct, it activated no problem!
